Our Take on the Saatva Lineal Adjustable Base

The Saatva Lineal allows you to raise and lower the head and/or foot section of the bed so you can find a comfortable position for reading, sleeping, and so on. The adjustability can also come in handy for snorers (since elevating the head a bit can reduce snoring) and for people with lower-body injuries (since they’ll be able to keep the legs, ankles, and/or feet elevated).

The Lineal base also comes with a variety of special functions, which we’ll detail below. It’s made by the Saatva brand, which is best known for making luxury online mattresses including the Saatva mattress, the Saatva Solaire, the Saatva HD, and more.

Who Should Get the Saatva Lineal Adjustable Base?

  • People who want an adjustable base with extra features
  • People who are prone to snoring
  • People who want an affordably priced adjustable base (At $1,399 for a Queen-size base, the Saatva Lineal is a good deal)
  • Seniors who want one of the best adjustable beds for them

Who Shouldn’t Get the Saatva Lineal Adjustable Base?

  • People who want a sleep trial
  • People who want a more luxurious adjustable base (In this case, consider the Upper Flex base that pairs with the Saatva Solaire)

How Does the Saatva Lineal Adjustable Bed Frame Work?

If you’re not familiar with the Lineal (or with adjustable bases in general), then you’ve come to the right place! Below, we’ll explain how the adjustable bed frame works as well as how it’s constructed.

Design

Let’s start by taking a look at how the Saatva Lineal adjustable base is designed!

Parts

The Lineal adjustable base is made from polyester stretched around a metal frame. Its legs are adjustable, which allows sleepers to lift and lower the head and/or foot of the base and the mattress on top of it.

Remote Control

The Lineal adjustable base comes with a remote control that allows you to easily adjust its settings. There are two motors inside the adjustable base, which are controlled by the remote control.

Settings

The Saatva Lineal adjustable base comes with several settings.

  • Standard settings. The most basic functionality of the Saatva Lineal adjustable base is reflected in its standard settings, which allow you to raise and lower the head/and or foot of the bed. The same is true for virtually any adjustable base.
  • Zero gravity. This setting elevates your body so you feel like you’re sleeping in Zero G. This can relieve pressure on the body, especially the back.
  • Anti-snore. This setting elevates your head to a height that is supposed to be ideal for minimizing or eliminating snoring.
  • Memory. The memory function allows you to program the base so it remembers your preferred settings.
  • Massage. This pleasant feature allows you to enjoy a massage in the comfort of your own bed.

Other Settings

In addition to the settings outlined above, the Saatva Lineal adjustable base also comes with a few extra bells and whistles.

  • Light. The adjustable base has a small under-bed light that makes it easier to maneuver around during the night. Additionally, the remote control has a small, built-in flashlight that you can use to find items or make adjustments during the night—without needing to turn on a brighter light that could further disrupt your sleep.
  • USB ports. Easily charge your phone, e-reader, tablet, or other device from bed using the built-in USB ports. This feature is particularly helpful for folks who enjoy using an e-reader in bed because their reading won’t be interrupted by a dying battery.

Saatva Lineal Base Mattress Compatibility

The Saatva Lineal Base is designed to work with any mattress that’s compatible with an adjustable base. Even if you don’t purchase a Saatva mattress, the base should be compatible with your bed so long as the bed is designed to work with an adjustable base.

We tested the Lineal Base with the Saatva Latex Hybrid mattress and found that it worked just as intended. The mattress was held in place by sticky strips on the frame and the wire frame at the end of the bed, so we felt secure while using the adjustable base. Also, we did not bunch up too much on the bed as we lowered and raised the head and foot areas.

Putting the Saatva Lineal Adjustable Base Together

We found it pretty easy to set up the Saatva Lineal adjustable base. The base comes completely expanded in one box. You’ll just need to open the box, cut the zip ties, put on the legs (the only assembly required) and flip over the base. Then it’s a quick process to pair the base with its remote control, and it’s ready to use!

Company Policies

Before purchasing any adjustable base, it’s a good idea to familiarize yourself with the company policies in question. Here’s a quick overview of the policies associated with the Saatva Lineal adjustable base.

Trial Period

The Lineal adjustable base does not come with a trial period and is non-returnable. This means that you should feel confident in your decision before purchasing this base.

Warranty

The Saatva Lineal adjustable base is designed to be very durable. It comes with a 25-year warranty.

Return Info

The Lineal Base is not returnable and cannot be exchanged.

Saatva Lineal Adjustable Base Performance

We evaluated the Saatva Lineal with regards to a variety of performance indicators, including adjustability, wall-hugging, noise, durability, and more. Let’s see how it performed!

Materials

The Saatva Lineal Base is made from sturdy materials. It boasts a metal frame with a polyester cover. There’s a thin layer of foam underneath the polyester, which offers a bit of “give” between the base and the mattress.

Adjustability

The Lineal Base offers a wide range of adjustments. The head section can change from flat to a fully upright sitting position. The leg section can move from flat to letting the thighs rest at a 45-degree angle.

Remote Control

The remote control that comes with the Lineal adjustable base is intuitive and easy to use. As noted above, it also features a small flashlight that can come in handy during the night.

Wall-Hugging

In our experience, the Saatva Lineal adjustable base does a good job of hugging the wall. As we raise the head of the bed, the entire frame scoots toward the wall. This helps maintain the positioning of your bed relative to the bedroom.

Noise

We did observe a bit of noise from the motors inside the Lineal Base, which is to be expected. We’ve definitely heard louder adjustable bases.

Durability

As we’ve noted, the Saatva Lineal boasts a metal frame and sturdy design. This base should last for at least 15 years, and its warranty lasts for 25 years.

Zero-Gravity Function

With the click of a button on the Saatva Lineal adjustable base’s remote control, you can activate the zero-gravity function. In our experience, you won’t feel entirely weightless while using this function, but it does lessen pressure on the body—particularly the back.

Anti-Snore Function

When you activate the anti-snore function using the remote control, the bed’s head section rises a bit. Research suggests that slightly elevating the head can minimize or eliminate snoring during the night. This can improve sleep quality for both the snorer and anyone with whom they might share a bed.

Massage

This is a major highlight of the Saatva Lineal! The massage feature includes a wave function and targeted massage within the top and bottom of the base. This can help ease aches and pains and increase your chances of drifting off to comfortable sleep.

Additional Features

As we noted above, the Lineal adjustable base comes with a couple handy additional features. The light on the bottom of the base makes it easy to maneuver around at night, while the built-in USB ports allow you to charge your phone and other electronic devices while keeping them accessible.

Pros and Cons

If you’ve read this far, you now know a ton about the Saatva Lineal adjustable base! Is your head swimming a bit? Then let’s simplify things by breaking down this base’s pros and cons.

Pros

  • This is a good value that costs less than many adjustable bases
  • It’s easy to set up
