How Firm Is the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid?
The medium model we tested is about a 6.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale. We’d categorize this as medium-firm. The top of the mattress feels quite soft due to the comfortable proprietary foams. Beneath that, the mattress gets firmer due to the individually-wrapped coils.

Sleeping on the Brooklyn Bedding Hybrid Signature Hybrid
If you’re a back sleeper, the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid should offer a wonderful balance of comfort and support. We felt our hips sink in just the right amount, and the top foam layers even offered a bit of contouring. The coils gave lots of support. Overall, it is one of the best mattresses for back sleepers.
Meanwhile, most side sleepers will get the pressure relief they need without feeling like their hip or shoulder are being jammed into the mattress. That being said, some side sleepers might want to opt for the more pressure-relieving Soft model.
As for stomach sleeping, the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid provides decent support overall, though stomach sleepers might be better off opting for the Firm model.
What Does the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid Feel Like?
The Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid hybrid offers a plush and innerspring feel. Thanks to the multiple foam layers, there is a bit of a pillow top feel. There’s a good bounce to it, which makes it an especially good fit for combination sleepers and those preferring a “springy” sleeping surface.
Average Weight Sleepers – 130lbs to 230lbs
Based on our testing, we think average weight back sleepers will feel both comfortable and fully supported by this mattress. Most will feel that balance of comfort and support that we did.
Side sleepers under 200lbs should get the pressure relief they need, while those closer to 230lbs may want to opt for the Soft model.
And though stomach sleepers should find this mattress reasonably supportive, the Firm option may be an even better fit. Some average weight stomach sleepers could feel their hips bow into the mattress somewhat.
Heavyweight Sleepers – Over 230lbs
Most back sleepers in the heavyweight category should find the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid to be a good, supportive fit. However, those who top 300 lbs may want to consider a mattress made with additional coil layers or a mattress for heavy people.
For side sleepers in this category, the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid may be too firm. We recommend something softer with a thicker comfort layer.

Sleeping Hot or Cold
The mattress does a good job of regulating body temperature and dissipating heat. The foam layer is injected with TitaniumGel, which draws heat away from the body. And, the coil layers allow for plenty of airflow. Altogether, you shouldn’t be sleeping hot on the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid mattress. Motion Transfer
As a fairly bouncy mattress, the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid doesn’t absorb motion well. For couples who share a bed together, this may be an issue. Partners could disturb one another when they move around at night.
Edge Support
The edge support isn’t fantastic on the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid. It collapses a bit when we sit and lie down near the edge. We don’t feel like we are going to roll off, but this is still something to note.

We noticed a slight chemical smell when we first unboxed the mattress, but it subsided after about 48 hours. This is pretty standard for a bed in a box mattress like the Brooklyn Bedding.

We did not notice any noise as we moved around on the mattress, though it’s possible that the coils might squeak over time.
Sex
It’s really easy to move around and change positions on the Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid mattress, which makes it a good mattress for sex.
